Woman arrested in Kaduna for aborting, burying own fetus

A 33-year-old woman identified as Hauwa, who allegedly connived with her 35-year-old elder sister, Zainab, to remove her foetus and bury it in a shallow grave around a hotel in Tudun Wada, Kaduna, has been taken into police custody.

The police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Mohammed Jalige, who confirmed her arrest, said the police had also arrested the manager of the hotel where the criminal act was carried out.

He said the two suspects had been transferred to the police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discrete investigation.

However, our correspondent gathered that the two sisters, who reside close to the hotel facility where they buried the fetus, checked in last Friday night after they paid N2,000 for accommodation to execute their plan.
