“The idea is for the business community to find time amidst their busy schedules to relax, while the golf community, predominantly made up of businessmen, can meet and connect with the Abuja business community,” he said.

He added that the event provided an opportunity for the incubation of ideas and business development, noting the important life lessons that golf teaches.

“Golf is a game that tests your self-judgment, integrity, honesty, and fidelity. It also teaches patience and understanding,” Obegolu said.

He further stated that there are plans to make the tournament an annual national event in Abuja, serving as a premier networking platform for the business and golf communities.

One of the winners, Princess Obioma Abangwu, who clinched two awards, expressed her joy: “God worked everything out today. Sometimes you plan, and things don’t work, but I had a great score today. The weather was nice, and the organisation was amazing, so I say thank you to ACCI,” she said.

Abangwu also encouraged more women to come into the game of golf as she emphasised the benefits of the game.

“Golf is a game of life. You interact with nature, enjoy fresh air, meet people, and even conduct business discussions here. It’s a wonderful place to be,” she added.

At the end of the well-attended event which was supported by Media Trust Group- publishers of Daily Trust, Weekend Trust, Aminiya, and Trust Digital, different prizes and awards were given to winners at the gala night and cocktail which had in attendance members of the diplomatic community, business moguls and golf enthusiasts.
