Speaking at the presentation of the dummy ticket in Abuja, Ayo, who is a member of the TYB International Golf and Country Club, said: “I feel great. Golf is one game I love so much.
“I’m passionate about it. It’s one game that if I don’t go out to play, it’s as if I’m missing something”.
Ayo said she would like to take her golfing career to the international stage.
Oghenekarho Atumu of the airline’s sales department said Ayo was rewarded with the free ticket because Rwanda as a country is a big supporter of sports development.
“Whenever we’ve the opportunity to support golfing in Rwanda, Nigeria and other African countries, of course we take advantage of those opportunities because we’re firm believers of golfing,” he said.
The vice-captain of the TYB International Golf and Country Club, Brig.-Gen. Gakji Shipi (rtd) said 60 percent of golf courses in Nigeria were started by the military.
