At least 40 buildings, including residential houses, shops and those under construction, have been destroyed by a windstorm in Lemu town, headquarters of Gbako LGA of Niger State.
Residents told City & Crime that most of the people affected were low-income earners who were taking refuge with relations and neighbours.

A victim, Salihu Ibrahim Lemu, told City & Crime that, “The roofing of my room was blown off and three other rooms in my house were affected. My neighbour narrowly escaped when part of his house fell down. But we Thank God, no life was lost. We are calling on the local and state governments to assist us.’’
