Human beings have emotions and are bound to react in certain ways when excited or displeased.

Celebrities, no matter how much they try to portray a perfect image of themselves especially in public, are also humans with valid emotions and feelings.

Daily Trust identifies some celebrities that have had outbursts on national television.

Will Smith vs Chris Rock

The first on the list is the most recent altercation between American actor and film producer, Willard Carroll Smith II popularly known as Will Smith and American stand-up comedian and actor, Christopher Julius Rock also known as Chris Rock.

Rock had made a joke about Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. The incident which happened at the 2022 Oscars Academy Award event made Will to slap the comedian.

Chris Rock who was the host of the show made a joke about Jada’s shaved head despite the fact that she had earlier shared in 2018 her struggle with Alopecia, an autoimmune disease that causes drastic hair loss.

Will, who was clearly displeased with the ‘joke’, walked across the stage and slapped the comedian. After returning to his seat, he yelled out, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fu*king mouth.”

Kanye West vs Taylor Swift

Another outburst on national television was between American rapper and businessman, Kanye West also known as Ye, and American singer and songwriter, Taylor Alison Swift.

The incident happened during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Kanye had interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech and grabbed the mic from her, stating that popular superstar, Beyoncé, should have won the award instead.

Taylor Swift won the award for ‘Best Female Video’ beating Beyoncé and other female nominees. As the country pop singer was about to make her acceptance speech, Kanye grabbed the mic from her and said, “Taylor Swift, I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all. Time…one of the best videos of all time!”

It was gathered that Kanye apologized to Taylor a few days after. Taylor Swift also confirmed that the rapper made a sincere apology and there was no hard feelings.

Olamide vs Don Jazzy

Not leaving Nigeria out, another celebrity outburst on national television was between rapper and YBNL Records boss, Olamide Gbenga Adedeji popularly known as Olamide, and record producer and CEO of Mavin Records, Micheal Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy.

The incident, which happened during the 2015 Headies Awards, had Olamide upset after one of his signee’s didn’t win the award for the ‘Next Rated Artiste’.

This came after one of Mavin’s signees, Reekado Banks, won the Next Rated Artistes award. While accepting the award for Adekunle Gold’s Best Alternative Act, Olamide took the mic and expressed disappointment that his signee, Lil Kesh, didn’t win the award.

Afterwards, the rapper dropped the mic on the floor and flung his half-filled cup across the stage, saying, “”Lil Kesh is our own Next Rated artist. F**k that sh’t! The streets ti take over.”

“Every f**king single was a hit back to back. From lyrically. to Shoki to Efejoku. Ko ni dafun Iya anybody,” he added, angrily.

After Olamide’s outburst, Don Jazzy won the Special Recognition Award and while giving his acceptance speech, responded to Olamide.

He said, “I don’t like awards. I told Ayo Animashaun that I don’t want this award. I said the award should be given to D’banj but they found a way to get me here. I came out here to support my children. As they were trying to present the award, Reekado Banks was performing at Ali Baba’s show. I have already told my children that I will buy cars for all of them. Egbon Olamide, if you want the car, come and collect it.”

The 2015 Headies Next Rated Artiste Award winner got a Hyundai SUV car.

A Few days after, their reconciliation was orchestrated by billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote.

Nicki Minaj vs Miles Cyrus

American rapper and songwriter, Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty popularly known as Nicki Minaj, and American singer, Miley Ray Cyrus, are artistes that had been at loggerheads on national television.

The incident which occurred in the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards had Nicki Minaj call out fellow entertainer, Miley, over comments that the latter made.

Miley commented about Nicki Minaj when she was asked in an interview about an online argument that had ensued between Nicki and Taylor Swift over racism experienced in the industry.

The comment which was not well received had the Anaconda crooner called her out while accepting her award. Nicki who had just won the award for Best Hiphop video took to the stage to thank her pastor and to also criticise the host of the show, Miley Cyrus.

Nicki said, “And now back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press – Miley, what’s good?”

Miley responded immediately and said, “We’re all in the industry, we all do interviews, and we all know how they manipulate shit.”

Ahmed Isah vs Interviewee

The last on the list of celebrities who have had an outburst on national television is Nigerian radio-television personality and founder of Brekete family, Ahmed Isah popularly known as Ordinary President and one of his interviewees, Susan.

During the altercation which occurred in 2021, Isah, who is a human rights activist, slapped the lady who had assaulted a child. The lady had tied the hands and legs of the child, poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. When Isah approached her to give her side of the story, he lost his temper and rained slaps on her.
