Governor Nyesom Wike has invited the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, to commission a project in Rivers State on August 9.

The invitation letter was dated August 2nd and it was duly signed by the governor.

In the letter, Wike invited the former Sokoto state governor, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence, to commission the dualized Ogbumnu-abali road in Port Harcourt.

Wike is a chieftain of the leading opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The letter reads; “the Rivers State Government has completed the dualization of the Ogbumnu-abali road in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of the State as part of our urban renewal programme and commitment to advancing the development of the State.

“The formal commissioning of this road has been scheduled for Tuesday 9th August 2022 by 11.00 a.m.

“It is therefore my pleasure to most respectfully request you to honour us with your esteemed presence to commission this road, as scheduled, to the glory of God and the benefit of the people of Rivers State.

“Thank you for your kind consideration, even at very short notice, and please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest regards and respect, as always.”
