Operatives of the Ogun Police Command have arrested a 30-year-old housewife, Mrs Cynthia Olukiowu, for allegedly stabbing one Habeeb Aremu, an 18-year-old nephew of her husband to death over a broken mirror.

The suspect, who resides at No 2, Apogidonoyo Street, Jafa Agbado, in Ifo Local Government Area, was arrested on Saturday.

She was arrested following a distress call received by policemen attached to Agbado divisional headquarters that a boy had been stabbed in the neck by his uncle’s wife.

It was reported that the incident arose from a clash between the suspect and the deceased who reportedly broke a mirror in the house.

In the ensuing clash, the woman allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and used it to stab the deceased on his neck.

The police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Sunday in Abeokuta told newsmen that following the distress call, the DPO Agbado Division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, led his men to the scene where the suspect was arrested.

Oyeyemi said the victim, who was found in a pool of his own blood was taken to hospital.

According to him, the victim was however confirmed dead by the doctor on duty and his corpse was deposited at Ifo general hospital mortuary.

Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
