A woman identified as Becky has bathed her husband, Odion, with acid after quarrelling with him at their home in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
It was gathered that the couple had been having issues, and that the woman at a time reported her husband to the police over a domestic squabble and that the police advised them to make peace with each other.
It was learnt that the members of their extended families were planning to settle the couple before the wife poured acid on her husband at the weekend.
A source said it was the screaming of the husband that attracted neighbours to their apartment only to find Odion lying on the floor in pains, adding that the woman had been arrested by the police.
When contacted, the police spokesman in the state said he was going to release a statement on the incident.
