The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State adopted indirect method of primaries in order to check infiltrators, a chieftain of the Party, Alhaji Faruk Yabo has said.
Yabo who is aspiring for the number one seat in the state made the clarification while receiving a nomination and declaration of interest form purchased for him by 12 APC lawmakers in the state.
According to him, the arrangement would avert intrusion by their former members who had been planning to cause chaos during the primaries as they still hold membership cards of the party.
“They defected to the PDP and still holding our cards with the intention of causing division in the party,” he alleged.
He added that the indirect primaries will help sanitize the party against intruders.
