The Chairman Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume has hailed troops of 25 Task Force Brigade of the ‘Operation Hadin Kai for repelling Boko Haram terrorists in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
Daily Trust had reported that there was jubilation in Damboa after soldiers repelled an early morning attack by the insurgents, who stormed the town around 6:35am.

This had created tension among residents but troops reportedly engaged them in a heavy shootout, forcing them out of the town.
Ndume, while speaking with journalists on Friday in Abuja, said the success was recorded because of improved coordination between the security agencies.
He commended the Brigade Commander, Brigadier- General M. F. Babayo and other officers for their gallantry in preventing the terrorists from attacking Damboa.
“I called the Brigade Commander during the attack and he was in full spirit. He told me even at the scene of the incident that he was on top of the situation.
“And unlike in the past, the soldiers were fully determined and chased away the terrorists without fear of giving up,” he said.
He said the community also boosted the morale of the soldiers as they sang songs of praises and rejoicing with the soldiers for the success.
