Why security operatives should be celebrated – Frank Mba

Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, DCP Frank Mba has said that it was important to recognise and celebrate security operatives for the ultimate prizes they pay in keeping the nation safe.

Speaking during 1st Security and Emergency Management Award organised by Emergency Digest, he said most of them fight lots of battles and even get caught up in crisis just to ensure that Nigerians were safe.

Mba said most times many lost their limbs while others are killed, so when they are appreciated, it goes a long way to spur them on. He said the award ceremony has helped to celebrate unsung heroes whom people hardly hear and know about.

Speaking at the event, Executive Secretary, Centre for Crisis Communications, Air Commodore Yusuf Anas (RTD) said the recognition came at a time when the country is in perilous times and the security operatives are keeping up to ensure the safety of the country, hence celebrating them was an encouragement to keep working for the good of the country.

He said the centre is playing its part in enhancing the crisis communication capacity among major stakeholders, which includes the military, security, intelligence and response agencies in the country, adding that it has trained over 400 public relations and information officers of security and response agencies in the area of crisis communication.

The Nigerian Police Force won the award for Crime prevention, the Nigeria Airforce won the awards for Community Service, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Lagos State took the Cyber Crime Preventions award.

The winner for the most efficient law enforcement officer was given to the police twin brothers DSP Husseini and Hassan for several anti-kidnapping operations in the north-central and north-west.

The award for best military officer went to Major General Bulama Biu for leading troops on several aggressive pursuits of terrorists.

Police CSP Olabisi Davies who is the Divisional Police Officer, Wuye District, Abuja won the best security officer for reducing crime in the district.
