Delta State governor and vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has said the strengthening of primary health care is the strategy of his administration to achieve universal health coverage.

He said this at the commissioning of healthcare facilities for distribution to various primary healthcare centres in Asaba, the state capital donated by the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC). Okowa said it remained a veritable tool to reduce the burden of diseases and tackle emerging and re-emerging health challenges in the state communities.
