Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has expressed confidence that the party would dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
He said with the reform in the electoral Act which empowers the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to electronically transmit the election results, the votes of the people would truly count and it would be difficult for anybody to manipulate the election results.

While addressing candidates of the party in the 2023 election who were elected in the just concluded primaries, George that the PDP would win the 2023 governorship election and other elections in 2023.
“We would win. If we go through this electronic process, we would win. The people of Lagos are tired of liars,” he said.
Daily Trust reports that the party’s governorship candidate, Mr. Abdullateef Adejare Adediran popularly known as Jandor would slug it out with the incumbent Governor of the State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
George stated that the journey to the general election in 2023 has just begun.
The PDP leader who described asking the primaries as free and fair, urged the aggrieved members to channel their grievances to the Appeal Panels for the various primary elections.
“I want to thank our people for being steadfast, the journey to 2023 is just starting, you must be ready, don’t fight anybody. It is not our making, who did it? God, when He opens the door, no body can close it, and He closes it, no body can open it.
“I must express gratitude for your conduct , for the love you have for this party and I strongly believe in mind that God’s time has come,” he said.
“I know there are crises in certain constituencies, the general public are looking at the quality of the management. For those who are dissatisfied with the primaries, go and appear with your petition to the panel.
“I want to plead that there is no perfect system anywhere, what is constant, what should be perfect is your commitment to the virtues of this party,” he added.
He urged the elected members that won at different levels in the state to ensure that they work along with the managers of the party, saying that the residents of Lagos deserve the right to be served.
He advised the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to ensure that the general election should be done electronically.
“We have the competence, ability and every corner, we have the assets, why don’t we utilize these assets for the betterment of our people,” the PDP leader said.
