Noah Michael, a dispatch rider with Media Trust Limited publishers of Daily Trust titles, on Tuesday, found a lost bag in the Asokoro area of Abuja Municipal Area Council which he returned to the rightful owner.

Noah told Daily Trust that it was not the first time he was discovering lost valuables all of which he returned to their owners.

He said his mother always asked him not to take anything that did not belong to him, so the right thing to do was to return any lost item he found.

He said the black bag he found contained three phones and two touch lights, adding that he contacted the head of the unit where Aliyu, the owner of the bag, worked at the Federal Fire Service in Abuja.

Narrating his experience, Noah said: “This morning, I saw a bag by the road in the Asokoro area of Abuja metropolis before the villa gate.

“When I saw the bag, I just knew that someone must have lost it or forgotten it there. So I decided to find a way of returning it to the owner. When I returned to the office, I opened the bag and saw three handsets (phones) and two touch lights, a cap and an ID card with the name Aliyu Erenah.

“I took it to the Human Resource Unit of the Media Trust and from there, we called the number of the person, but he did not pick his line.

“We then called the number on the back of the ID card and it was answered. The person said he was the head of the unit where Aliyu worked at the Federal Fire Service.”

He said he was on transit but once he got to the office, he would call back, but he was yet to call.

Noah said the management of MTL commended his action, but advised him to involve the police for security reasons in view of the situation in the country.

“So we went and reported the case to the Asokoro police station,” he said.

City News reports that the bag was handed over to police officers at the Asokoro police station after he was asked to write a statement on how he found it.
