Why I nominated APC members as commissioners, advisers — Matawalle

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State yesterday said he nominated some members of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) as commissioners because of his resolve to constitute a government of unity.

Matawalle, who spoke through his Director General, Press Affairs Alhaji Yusuf Idris, said right from the beginning of his administration, he had promised to make his government all-inclusive.

“There is no big deal about it, because it is not the first time it is being done. It has been happening in many places. So there is no cause for alarm,” he said.

Matawalle had on Tuesday presented the list of 19 commissioner-nominees and 28 special adviser nominees to the state house of assembly for screening and confirmation.

The speaker of the state house of assembly,  Alhaji Nasiru Magarya, announced the nominees during the assembly’s plenary.

He listed the commissioner-nominees as,  Alhaji Sulaiman Tunau,  Alhaji Aminu Sulaiman, Abdulkadir Buhari Gora, Jinaidu Muhammad,  Muhammad Sadiq Maiturare, Zainab Lawal Gummi, Jamilu Aliyu, Dr Nura Isah and Rabiu Garba,

Others included the son to former minister of finance, Sufyanu Bashir Yuguda, Ibrahim Jibo Magayaki, Yahaya Chado Gora, Yahaya Muhammad Kanoma, Sheik Tukur Sani Jangebe, Ibrahim Isah Mayana, Abubakar Abdullahi Tsafe, Barr Nura Ibrahim Zarumi, Bilyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi and Abubakar Muhammad.
