The Minister of State, Science, Technology and Innovation, Abdullahi Mohammed, a lawyer, has said the federal government is making efforts to revive the rubber industry to aid the industrialisation of the country.
Mohammed made this known in his keynote address at the National Conference for the Industrialisation of Rubber Sector Friday in Abuja.

The minister said a lot of efforts were being made by the government to revamp the production of natural rubber to divert the economy from over dependency on crude oil.
He added that more needed to be done to ensure sustainable development and industrialisation of the sector, such as the need for collaboration between government and the organised private sector to develop the industry by setting up small to medium scale factories that would produce rubber into value added products.
