The Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa (APC, Kano), has said the leadership of the lower chamber of the National Assembly will be forced to take disciplinary action against Rep. Kingsley Chinda (PDP, Rivers) over his call for President Muhammadu Buhari’s impeachment.
Doguwa said in a statement issued Tuesday that the actions of Chinda were capable of jeopardizing the existing good relationship between the legislative and executive arms of government.
“We as a House and even in our respective caucuses have never contemplated any impeachment process against the president and we will never have any.
“I would therefore wish to, as a leader of the House, put it straight, the House would be compelled to take and initiate disciplinary process against Hon. Chinda,” he also said.
When contacted, Chinda told our reporter that “the House will decide”.
