Borno State government has explained the reason why elders from Borno and Yobe states met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Malam Isa Gusau, spokesman of the Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, said in the meeting focused on sustaining recent gains made by the military in the fight against Boko Haram.

“The interaction also discussed resettlement of the internally displaced persons to communities and villages that are safe, rehabilitation and reconstruction of major federal roads in Borno and Yobe states, among others,” he said in a statement.
Zulum was said to have led the delegation, which had Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, former governors of Borno State, Ashiek Jarma and Senator Kashim Shettima; Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Dr Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi, and Emir of Fika, Alhaji Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa.
