Why Baba Ganaru resigned as coach of Gombe United

The Head Coach of Gombe United, Mohammed Baba Ganaru, has resigned from the club following what has been described as the unbearable financial situation in the NPFL side.

The General Manager of the club, Abubakar Abubakar, confirmed Ganaru’s resignation but failed to provide details on why the coach resigned in the middle of the season.

However, sources in Gombe have said the resignation of the embattled coach was connected to lack of funds and other logistics to run the club.

Ganaru, who is a two-time winner of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with Kano Pillars, could not be reached at the time of filing this report, as his phone was switched off.

The former El-Kanemi, Yobe Stars and Lobi Stars coach had in previous interviews, appealed to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to rescue the team.

Gombe United currently occupy the 19th position on the NPFL table with 21 points from 22 matches.
