Why APC will take over Abia — Gov’ship candidate

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Chief Ikechi Emenike, has said the party will dislodge the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 poll because of the unabated crisis in the party.

Emenike spoke on Tuesday when he visited the APC national secretariat in Abuja.

He also said the APC would win the election because the current administration in the state has allegedly not performed up to the yearnings of the citizens of the state.

“Our governor can be anywhere. What I want to assure you is that through his performance, he (Governor Ikpeazu) has done almost 40% campaign for the APC,” he said.

Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Akwa Ibom, Pastor Umo Eno, has promised to sustain peace, security, and development in the state if elected in 2023.

Speaking on Tuesday in Uyo, during the official flag-off of campaigns for his governorship bid, Eno said he would build and leverage the legacies of the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Eno said his contract with the people was summed up in his ARISE agenda, focusing on agriculture, investment, security and education amongst other things.

He assured Akwa Ibom people that he would not take them and the confidence they have reposed in him for granted.

“Today, on this same ground, I stand here to unveil our contract with Akwa Ibomites at home and in the diaspora. A contract to continue on the path of peace, security and development we have enjoyed in the last seven years plus,” he said.
