The Progressives Congress For Solidarity Movement Worldwide has asked President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure the emergence of a former governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Tanko Al-Makura as the next national chairman of the party.
The APC has slated March 26 for its national convention where new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) would be elected.

In a statement on Monday in Abuja, the coordinator of the solidarity movement, Aliyu Balewa, said Al-Makura is the best man for the job.
“We hereby strongly advise President Buhari not to abandon his long-term political associate, Sen. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura who stood by him when the likes of Sen Adamu worked against him in 2003, 2007 and 2011 respectively.
“Sen. Al-Makura conquered the political odds through fair means but his traducer always bamboozled his way through unfair, undemocratic means,” the group said.
