Nigeria’s election in 2023 might be a watershed moment for the youth of the country, putting an end to problems like unemployment and insecurity and ushering in a time of peace and prosperity.

It’s vital to consider the backgrounds and accomplishments of the candidates as well as their plans for solving challenges facing the youth. They should look out for a leader who can solve important issues like education, security and unemployment. Age should also be taken into account while evaluating these candidates because it can reveal a candidate’s level of enthusiasm and experience.

Former Anambra State governor Obi is renowned for prioritizing economic growth and education during his term in office. He has additionally participated in promoting entrepreneurship among young people, which could be seen as an avenue for creating jobs. At the age of early 50s, Obi is the youngest among the major candidates.

Atiku Abubakar, a former vice-president of Nigeria and a former governor of Adamawa State, has a reputation as a successful businessman and is known for his efforts to promote economic growth and development in Nigeria, including job creation. As a former vice president, he is credited to have helped promote private sector participation in government policies. Atiku Abubakar is in his 70’s, but that does not mean he will not be able to handle the demands of the presidency.

Tinubu, is a former governor of Lagos State and a national leader of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress. During his tenure as governor, Tinubu was credited with implementing policies that improved infrastructure and increased economic activity in the state, which could be seen as a potential source of jobs for young people. He also has reputation for being a grassroots oriented politician, who has helped promote development across Nigeria. Tinubu is in his early 70’s and that means he also has the right age balance of experience and energy.

Kwankwaso is a former governor of Kano State and is known for his efforts to improve education, healthcare and infrastructural development, and also for increasing employment opportunities and promoting agricultural development in the state. Kwankwaso is in his early 70’s, but like other candidates this does not mean he will not be able to handle the demands of the presidency.

It’s important to remember that these records and achievements are not exhaustive and that there are many other factors that will likely be considered when assessing these candidates, including their positions on key policy issues, their leadership styles, their ability to mobilize support, their campaign strategies and plans for the country.

Additionally, the Nigerian election is very dynamic and situation may change in the future as campaigns progress and other events unfold. It’s important for the Nigerian youth to be informed, and make informed decisions on who to vote for.
