Outgoing governor of Bauchi state, Mohammed Abubakar he will want to be remembered in the state for engendering sanity in the polity.
Abubakar was defeated in the March governorship election by a former minister of FCT, Bala Mohammed.
Speaking after meeting with the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, he said he would want to be remembered as somebody who has brought peace to the state.
” If you recall Bauchi state was one of the states that suffered from conflicts. By the time we took over, up till this moment, we have succeeded in engendering peace.
“Along with peace of course, a lot of developmental projects in health sector, in educational sector in infrastructure developments. So, mostly I’ll like to be remembered as somebody who has brought peace to the state,” he said.
He urged the people of the state, ” to continue maintaining the peace; be obedient to constituted authority and that us what my state has been known for.”
