The leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, says he has warned a former leader of the group, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, to avoid putting himself in confusion.
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had on Sunday visited Pa Fasoranti in Akure and presented his 80-page manifesto to him.

But speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Adebanjo said he warned Pa Fasoranti of the consequences of allowing the people to drag him into confusion.
He said, “When he phoned me, I told him I know all of these people. Examine those who appeared and call themselves Afenifere. Ask them, when last did they attend a meeting? They are the Yoruba leaders in the APC. I don’t want to go into that diversion.
“That is what I told Pa Fasoranti; don’t allow them to bring you into this confusion. They are not just coming to greet you. They are coming to have your blessing. Try to avoid it. The man has handed over to me. Is he still in action?”
Adebanjo added that he did not have to consult Pa Fasoranti to endorse the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi, saying he endorsed Obi based on fairness and equity.
