Members of the Katsina State House of Assembly are now more united and stronger after the recent leadership changes, Speaker of the assembly, Abubakar Kusada, has said.
Kusada emerged as the new speaker following the impeachment of Aliyu Muduru on February 15, this year, and since then, sources said the house had been polarised even as the new leadership had been working hard to close ranks.
However, speaking on the two years anniversary of the new assembly, Kusada said members had put behind them all that had happened and were now working for the development of Katsina State.
He said a committee had met with the ex-speaker, who he said had already adjusted his lifestyle.
Kusada said the major challenge of the assembly was that most constituents were yet to understand the role of legislators.
“We are service providers and not an institution where money is donated,” he said.
