The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa (APC, Zamfara), has said that he is working with the National Chairman of the APC,Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to address the logjam in Zamfara State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced that it was not expecting list of governorship, National and State Assembly candidates from the APC for Zamfara State over the failure of the party to conduct primaries within the stipulated time.
Marafa, a leading governorship aspirant in Zamfara, said Oshiomhole should be commended for doing the bidding of the members of party against that of the governors.
“I commend the Oshiomhole led NWC for respecting the court order that barred it from dealing with any faction of the APC in Zamfara State; I equally condemn the actions taken by Governor Yari of conducting and announcing results of primary election even when the law of the land forbids him from doing so,” he said.
