We’re not against ‘japa’ syndrome – FG

The Federal Government says it is not against relocation of Nigerians to foreign countries, provided legal procedures are followed.

Director of Economics, Trade and Investment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Akinremi Bolaji, said this yesterday in Abuja at the official launch of the Euroafrica Polish Language Centre, Abuja by the Euroafrica Educational Services.

“Europe today needs Africans and vice versa, and from the ministry we are giving all our support. Nigeria was not against the ‘japa’ syndrome, but wants Nigerians to do the right thing which was using legal, regular migration as citizen’s right would not be infringed on,” Bolaji said.

The founder of the centre, Olakunle Alayande, said its purpose was to transmit the language and culture of Poland to Nigerian youths due to promote legal migration and bilateral ties, among others.
