Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have resolved to work with the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to restore peace in troubled areas of the federation.
Chairman PDP Governors Forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, disclosed this shortly after a marathon meeting with the PDP National Reconciliation Committee headed by former Senate President, Bukola Saraki in Abuja, on Thursday.

“As governors of the PDP, we have agreed and resolved to continue to work with the federal government with the sole aim of re-establishing peace in the troubled areas of the federation.
“We must not play politics with security. We must all work together to ensure that we bring back peace in our land,” he said.
On banditry, he said: “The governor of Zamfara is here, we agreed to support the initiative of the federal government to ensure that whatever way we will re-establish peace in Nigeria. If negotiations and discussions are to bring peace so be it, and then of course if the kinetic approach is to be applied, we are all in support of that too.”
