‘We’ll surely succeed’, Ganduje speaks on Kano APC crisis

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reacted to the recent crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reacted to the recent crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

There is currently a crisis over the control of the party between a faction loyal to the governor and another under the control of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.

The crisis worsened after an Abuja court dissolved the excos elected at the congress conducted by Ganduje faction, declaring that the Shekarau faction is the authentic one.

In an interview with Radio France International, Hausa, on Wednesday, Ganduje said with the over 40 years of experience in politics, the present situation in Kano is nothing to worry about.

“The situation is normal in politics. There are always possibilities of division, so also there are for reconciliation. So all of us in both factions are professional politicians and we’ve had the experiences of such happenings. So, the National body of our party is working to resolve the crisis.”

“But what I’m trying to clear here is that we are not new to politics and we didn’t just jump into it. I joined politics over 40 years ago, and in addition to that, I studied politics in the university, and that is what we are practising.”

“The best we know about politics is that it is all about patient, and there is no permanent enemy in politics. So this is the page we are moving on and we will surely succeed,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Ganduje handed power over to his deputy and headed for the US for a week-long course.
