The National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali, has said the party will not throw invectives at political opponents in its campaigns.
Alkali, who addressed the press on Monday, said the Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso presidential campaign would be issue-based, adding that the party has urged all its supporters across the country to maintain decorum.

“We promise to run an issue-based campaign. We are not going to engage in abuse. Our supporters all over the country are under instruction not to engage in negative campaigns or violence.
“We will adhere strictly to the words and letters of the peace accord signed last month. But we call on others not to take us for granted and try to undermine our campaign activities,” he said.
The national chairman said the NNPP will soon release its timetable for the campaign that will take Kwankwaso to the nooks and crannies of Nigeria, stressing that the presidential candidate of the party remains the best qualified among the retinue of contestants for the office of the president of Nigeria.
