Some young politicians in Jigawa State, under the name “Badaru’s Disciples”, have said they would promote politics devoid of bigotry, hatred and selfishness in 2023.
They made the commitment Thursday during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of Hadejia Peoples’ Forum, a non-political community-based organisation in Hadejia, in Jigawa State.
The member representing Hadejia State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sadiq Jallo, who led the delegation, said the visit was to appreciate the forum for the award of honour and warmth reception accorded to their political mentor, Governor Abubakar Badaru, by ‘Hadejia Ina Mafita’ recently.
“As we thank ‘Hadejia Ina Mafita’ for the honour, we also promise to promote the politics of ideology, patriotism, discipline and consensus as we were trained by our political mentor, Governor Badaru Abubakar, for the unity, peace and progress of Jigawa State and Nigeria,” he said.
Jallo said Badaru’s Disciples is a group of young politicians including political office holders from national to the ward level and other political actors who were mentored into politics by Governor Badaru’s “School of Thought.”
