The Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board (NSPWB), Umar Makun Lapai, has said that those who rolled over their 2020 hajj fare will be given top priority during the next year’s hajj exercise.
He stated this in Minna when he paid a courtesy visit on the Director General, Bureau of Religious Affairs, Umar Faruk in his office.

He briefed the director general of the activities of the board towards a successful hajj operations especially with the setting up of hajj savings scheme which he said was still under consideration by state boards.
He said the template being proposed by the National Hajj Commission has remained the bone of contention, adding that while they were not against the scheme, its operations should be left with the states.
In his response, the DG of Bureau of Religious Affairs, Umar Faruk, congratulated the executive secretary on his appointment and commended him for his leadership qualities in piloting the affairs of the board.
He said the agitation by the states to have control over the hajj savings scheme was a step in the right direction and promised to raise the issue during the forthcoming AGM of Imams’ Forum.
