The leader of the gang that abducted the traditional ruler of Bukpe community in Kwali Area Council of FCT has threatened to keep the chief in their custody for one year unless the family raises N20 million for his release.

The kidnappers also advised the family members of the chief to sell his house to raise the amount.

City & Crime had reported that the kidnappers, last Wednesday night, invaded the palace of the chief, His Royal Highness (HRH), Alhaji Hassan Shamidozhi, and abducted him and two others.

A family member of the traditional ruler, who preferred anonymity, told our reporter on Sunday that the abductors were adamant on the N20m.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, did not reply an SMS sent to her on the demand.
