The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) has assured of credible observation during the forthcoming polls as its trained observers would be deployed to track elections in the 23 local government areas of Benue State.
Coordinator of TMG in Benue, Laz Mom, who gave the assurance during the step-down training for members in the state, stressed the need for them to be acquainted with the process of tracking the elections rightly.
Mom in his paper presentation entitled, “Role of an Observer,” said the observers are in the field to see if the electoral act would be complied with by the actors.
He added that the duty of the observers is to only record what they see on election day at the polling units and report the same in their checklists to their coordinator.
Also, the state deputy coordinator of TMG, Mrs Dooshima Agur, said a total of 100 observers were being targeted for the TMG training in Benue and that they would be deployed to all 23 LGAs of the state to track the election and ensure the right things are done without saying a word.
