This week has been a roller coaster of events.

But let’s kick start this with the curious case of the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele.

Recall, that last week we were told he joined the presidential race. Then in a series of tweets, he attempted to distance himself from the race.

However, this week, he put on his sneakers and raced to court to get legal backing to contest without resigning. He lost.

Afterwards, Buhari smacked everyone eyeing elective posts with a resign order. Some ministers have actually resigned.

However there is a man who is yet to resign, but belived to be nursing ambition to be the president and has told Nigerians to have heart attacks if they so please.

“Let them have heart attack. It’s good to have heart attack. I am having a lot of fun,” he told state House reporters on Thursday when they told him how his interest in the presidency was affecting Nigerians.

Ladies and gentlemen, like a snail forced to hurriedly recoil into its shell, some ministers have swiftly dropped their political ambitions shortly after a farewell message from their boss. One of them is Malami has dropped his gubernatorial dreams to continue as AGF.

And our man; ASUU loving, strike hating, hardworking Ngige. Seems he couldn’t get that 50M balance after all.

And speaking of those who can’t afford the presidency, let’s talk about our loveable comrade, Adamu Garba II

Adamu Garba climbed the mountain to declare, travelled to Minna to seek advice from IBB, then went to Aso Rock to eat Aisha’s iftar (again, lost my ticket to this dinner) solicited funds from Twitter and then just quit. Just like that?

Yet, Jonathan’s case was perhaps the most mind buggling.

So get this, some Northern group bought forms for Jonathan to run under APC.

Then Jonathan rejected said forms. Then Northern group denied involvement.

Then we heard that Jonathan is now an APC member? Even crazier, he has been a member since 2019? That some Northern Governors are allegedly sponsoring this drama?

Allegedly, these governors originally wanted an Emefiele Presidency, but now want a Jonathan Presidency…

Confused yet?

Don’t be, the good thing about this is that, with a Jonathan Presidency comes a first lady that resides in Nigeria. All hail Dame!

Meanwhile, election materials are still at CBN under the care of the one and only, heart-attack inducing Emefiele.

Yet, while all these drama went on, ASUU extended its strike to August.

Most students are out of school and have now decided to sell zobo, except for the ones unaffected by the strike who have decided to turn into a mob and kill their fellow student in Sokoto.

I would have loved to shed more light on the matter but now the relevant authorities have taken up the matter and two suspects are already in police custody.

In the meantime, we expect more ministers to resign and we look forward to the next week and all the drama to come.

Till then, buy zobo from a stay-at-home student today!
