The Pan Yoruba sociocultural group – Afenifere and Igbo sociocultural group – Ohanaeze, have rejected what they called attempt to drive a wedge between the two tribes over recent violence and massive destruction of public and private properties in Lagos State.
In a joint statement, leaders of the group, Chief Reuben Fasoranti and Chief John Nnia Nwodo, described the attempt as “devilish” and called on the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators.

They commiserated with all the families who lost their loved ones in Tuesday’s shooting in Lekki, Lagos, during the #EndSARS protest.
“The blood of these young ones will pursue their killers and those who ordered them to the gate of justice,” they said.
They condemned the “burning spree all over the city” after the Tuesday’s incident, saying, “We do not endorse arson as responsible organizations and we call for a stop of the orgies.”
They appealed to their peoples to continue to live together in peace and harmony and not allow divisive elements to put a wedge between them.
