The All Progressives Congress (APC) faction loyal to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has denied playing any role in the attack on the campaign office of Senator Barau Jibrin.

Barau is a member of G-7, an APC faction under the leadership of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.

Hoodlums had burnt down Barau’s office on Thursday.

In a petition to the Inspector General of Police, the G-7 blamed some aides of Ganduje and members of the APC faction loyal to the governor for the attack.

Reacting, Ahmed S. Aruwa, the Public Relations Officer of the APC faction under Ganduje, described the allegation as baseless and capable of damaging the image of the officials as well as the party.

He said it was unfortunate that some of the officials the group accused of involvement in the said attack have been out of the country for days, and wondered how they could possibly be part of the violence.

Aruwa stated that the APC (Ganduje’s group) and its members are law-abiding and have no any reason to engage in violence.
