A former governor of Niger State, Alh. Babangida Aliyu has said that Nigerians need to act right to make it easy for the spokesperson to project a proper narrative of Nigeria.
Speaking Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the 1st National Spokespersons Summit, organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Abuja, he stressed the need to change negative narrative through positive behavior because of lots of bad perceptions about Nigerians.
Declaring the summit open, Vice President Kashim Shettima said as experts and professionals, there was the need for spokespersons to partner with government officials in crafting the right narratives that will change the Nigerian story and reinvent the society.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nwokocha, he called on spokespersons of government and private institutions to defend the public against the merchants of fake news.

On his part, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris said the president’s steps to transform the economy were already yielding success.
