I would like to use this medium to draw the attention of Senator Sama’ila Dahuwa Kaila (Kachallan Katagum), representing Bauchi North Senatorial District at the Upper Chamber, to the state of discontent and growing disillusionment with his representation.
Before I start, I would like to bring to his attention the fact that this article is not meant to hurt his feelings, cast aspersions on him or tarnish his reputation, but I write it with the intention to remind him about some pressing issues and monumental problems confronting his senatorial district requiring an urgent attention.
It is a widely known secret to him and his entire constituents that the rapidly rising youth unemployment and women idleness are fear-provoking ticking time bombs that need to be defused. These twin evils are now posing a very serious threat to the future security, stability, socio-economic development of the region.
The attention of the distinguished Senator should be brought to the fact that there are thousands of housewives and idle widows who are trapped in a vicious circle of poverty and are incapable of catering for daily basic necessities for their children. This sorry condition unwillingly thrusts these jobless women and girls into whoredom. So, financial independence for these women and girls is a matter of necessity and urgency.

The distinguished senator may not be aware that most of the Primary Health Care (PHC) centres of his senatorial district have been suffering a serious setback ranging from lack of sufficient medical equipment to inadequacy of manpower resulting in maternal and child deaths and sudden demise of unconscious patients at emergency wards.
Hence, being a deputy chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, you are expected to leave no stone unturned to take advantage of this pre-eminent position to resuscitate and upgrade some comatose Primary Health Care (PHC) centres throughout the nooks and crannies of the Senatorial District via equipping them with ultra-modern necessary facilities and medications.
The distinguished senator should be reminded that an effective leadership is contingent on an action of prioritisation of policies and keeping promises, not just bearing a name or holding position.
To sum up, all eyes are now on the distinguished senator as his constituents have pinned their hopes on him expecting him to leave behind an unprecedented indelible legacy of massive job creation and capital projects for his senatorial district.
