The speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, says Nigeria is besieged by several security challenges that strike at the very heart of its continued nationhood.
He said to overcome the various challenges, Nigerians must set aside their differences in politics, religion, tribe and ethnicity to build a national alliance against the forces threatening them.

He spoke in Abuja Thursday at the national conference on information organized by the House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values.
He noted that information management is key to overcoming insecurity and other challenges.
He said as technology and new media had democratised public debate to benefit citizens and nations, it had also created the ideal conditions for bad actors to spread misinformation and manipulate people in ways that threatened the society.
The chairman of the committee, Odebunmi Dokun, said proper information management had not been given its deserved consideration in Nigeria.
