The Head Coach of Ikorodu City, Bright Ozegbagbei, has said victory didn’t come easy for title holders Enugu Rangers in the rescheduled NPFL week 2 fixture played yesterday in Lagos.
Rangers secured an away win1-0 against Ikorodu City, thanks to Chinemerem Ugwueze who broke the deadlock on 25 minutes after benefiting from a Kazeem Ogunleye’s corner-kick.
The goal sealed the maximum points for the visitors at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium in Lagos.
Speaking with newsmen after the match, Ikorodu City coach acknowledged the strength of the Fidelis Ilechukwu led boys but attributed the loss to the inability of his boys to convert their chances.

“Rangers are the champions so we didn’t make it easy for them. They only had one clear cut chance and made use of it. The tactical formation is not faulty and I worry why we did not take our chances,” he said.
Despite the loss, he expressed confidence ahead of the next match against Nasarawa United, scheduled for Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium in Lagos.
“Our ambition is to stay in the league. The loss means a lot to the team, but the league is a marathon. Our first home result didn’t speak well of our performance.
“We’ll go back to the drawing board and try to work on areas that we need to improve,” he said.
