Enugu Rangers FC coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has said that his team’s loss to Lagos based Nigerian Professional Football League side Mountain of Fire Ministry (MFM) FC in the NPFL match day 4 played at Agege Stadium yesterday was due to carelessness.
MFM seized the opportunity in the 32 minutes to edge the Nigerian representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup to win the tie 1-0. Thanks to Adeniji Kabir who scored the lone goal
But the Enugu Rangers gaffer believes that his players deserved the maximum three points if they had converted their chances and not made mistakes.
“I think we lost to carelessness, this is game we could have wrapped up, but sometimes you learn lessons, thank God it happened in the first game.
“Well, the match has been played, won and lost. All we need to do is to take the positives in it and go ahead,” he said.
Speaking about their CAF Confederation Cup group, Ogunbote assured that through concerted efforts of coaches and players, they will survive the group.
“At that point, I cannot avoid any team even if we don’t meet them in the group stage, we need to buckle up, train well, play well and survive it and I know it will end in praise,” he said.
