The Okada Riders Association in Ekiti State has cautioned its members to ply only safe areas and close work by 10:00 p.m. daily in the face of deadly attacks on its members.
During a meeting convened at the Fajuyi Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, Mr Kunle Asaolu, the chairman of the association in Ekiti State, revealed that within the past three months (February, March, and April 22), over 23 members of the okada riders have been killed by unknown criminal elements operating within the state.

Asaolu while addressing the media alongside security operatives, advised members to refrain from venturing into unfamiliar territories.
“If anyone offers you N3,000 or N5,000, do not go,” he emphasised. He also highlighted the government’s directive for okada riders to commence operations at 6:00 a.m. and conclude by 10:00 p.m., absolving the association of any responsibility for riders apprehended by the police after the stipulated time.
