Three suspected cultists arrested by the police in Osun State have confessed that they joined cultism to show off.

The suspects, Akintunde Moses, Adedayo Olamilekan and Ayomipo Oluyemi confessed that they were members of the Buccaneer cult group which is also known as Alora.

In a chat with Daily Trust at the headquarters of the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo, the suspects said they were students and that their major reason for joining cult was to enable them to flex as fine boys on campus.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Wale Olokode, said the suspects were arrested in Ile-Ife with one English revolver pistol in their possession.

One of the suspects, Moses Akintunde said “I joined the cult group when I was contesting for the position of Assistant Secretary-General (AGS) of the Students Union Government (SUG) at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, (MAPOLY) in Ogun State in the 2017-2018 academic session.

Adedayo Olamilekan and Ayomipo Oluyemi said they joined secret cult in school so that they could show off.

The three suspects said the English revolver pistol that the police recovered from them belonged to the association.

The CP said the suspects would be arraigned in court and appealed to residents to always assist police with reliable information that would aid the arrest of criminals in the state.
