We have what it takes to keep schools safe – FG

The Federal Government has put necessary measures in place to protect all Nigerians, particularly the school environment, following the recent cases of abductions of school children in some states.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said this Monday while fielding questions from State House reporters after a close-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Sirika said the government would not rule out the possibility of attempts to embarrass government by some elements with the rising incidents of students’ abductions.

The minister had on Sunday when he led a high-powered federal government delegation to Zamfara State delivered President Muhammadu Buhari’s assurance that the abduction of more than 300 girls from Government Girls’ Science Secondary School, Jangebe, Zamfara State, would be the last of such incidents in the country.

Sirika, while reacting to a question that sought to know whether the government had taken the likely reaction by elements opposed to the success of the administration into consideration, said President Buhari had been putting modalities in place to ensure that his assurance of security and safe schooling does not fail.
