The Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) Alhaji Ahmed Idris  has said funds meant for the Nigerian Army are promptly released as a mark of support to the war against insurgency.
A statement from the office of the AGF said, Idris disclosed this in Abuja when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur  Buratai at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
The statement quoted the AGF to have said the Treasury House “has been tacitly collaborating with the Nigerian Army  by ensuring that all their funds accrued to them are duly and promptly released, adding that has help the Soldiers remain in high spirits to win the war against insurgency.”
In his response, the Chief of Army Staff expressed his satisfaction with the manner of prompt and timely releases of funds from the office of the Accountant General of the Federation saying that “the army has had the best of times with the office in the recent times.”
General Buratai commended the Accountant General on the implementation of the Treasury Single Account, saying that the policy has since improved after the initial teething problem, expressing appreciation to him, for creating special accounts for their National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and other special needs of the soldiers.
