The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has refuted media reports on the plan to return a former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, as the party’s presidential flag bearer come 2023.
National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Kola Ologbondiya, stated this while fielding question on the party’s plan to give the ticket to Atiku, during an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja, on Wednesday.

Kola said as a party, PDP is always ready to defend democracy, and will not in any way or manner support the imposition of candidate.
“We have not started selling forms, until then, we don’t know those who are contesting for the presidential ticket of the party for 2023. Moreover, we have not started selling forms,” he added.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Trust, a member of Board of Trustees (BoT) and former minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Maina Waziri, said there is an understanding among the party stalwarts to retain the party presidential ticket in the North.
