Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mohammed Buba Marwa, says drug abuse can be eradicated if people respect the dignity of culture and traditions.

He spoke Tuesday in Abuja as a guest speaker at the annual public lecture of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO).

Marwa, represented by Director, Drug Demand Reduction, NDLEA, Anthonia Madubuike, said empowering youths with education, skills development, employment opportunities and social support systems would help the fight against drug abuse.

Executive Secretary, NICO, Ado Muhammed Yahuza, said the institute had established culture clubs in secondary schools nationwide for cultural orientation.
