Two suspects arrested over burglary, Nnaji Emmanuel, 33, and Chukwu Christian, said they broke into a friend’s shop at Alaba International Market, Ojo, to raise money to pay house rent.
They said they broke into the shop where they stole goods worth over N3 million.

The suspects were arrested on April 8, 2021, based on a tip-off from a cart pusher who they had contacted to help them move the stolen items to an unknown destination.
“It was the devil’s handiwork. We needed money to pay rent,” the suspects confessed.
Lagos state police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident, said police operatives at Ojo Division of the Lagos State Police Command, on April 8, 2021, at about 1.50pm, arrested two suspects for breaking into a warehouse belonging to one Chidi Okonkwo.

According to him, the suspects, Nnanji Emmanuel, 33, of Jakande Street, Ajamgbadi, Lagos and Christian Chukwu 32, of Ilaje Area, Ajamgbadi, Lagos, broke into the warehouse, stole the goods and called a cart pusher in the market, identified as Bashiru Bala, to assist in evacuating the goods but Bala, who knows the owner of the warehouse, called his attention to the incident.
“The owner raced to the warehouse in company of some market security men and the police, and the suspects were arrested. The stolen items were recovered from them.
