Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule has said arrangements have been completed to acquire 10,000 hectares of land to fully key into the federal government’s food security programme.
The governor dropped the hint in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
He revealed that the state had been mapped out among those that would play a major role in achieving the food security agenda of the federal government.
According to him, President Bola Tinubu stated in January, 2024 that the federal government would cultivate about 500,000 hectares of farmlands to fight against the persistent hunger strike across the nation.

He, however, noted that Nasarawa State was expected to cultivate 10,000 hectares of land for the production of a chosen crop.
He said, “We are considering deploying our available resources as well as the resources that would come as a result of the project. The executive council has to take the decision about developing the 10, 000 hectares of land.”
